Fisherville Area Neighborhood Association
16 Years
Plan First – Then Build
The FANA board, members and neighbors continued working throughout 2025 fulfilling our mission to preserve the rural character and natural assets of the area, ensure development meets balanced and sustainable guidelines
and represent the neighborhood’s interests with government agencies.
2025 Year in Review
FANA conducts an annual public meeting, board members meet quarterly, and a core group participates in the Floyds Fork Coalition Zoom call every few weeks. Highlights of our accomplishments this past year include:
- Supported the Metro Council ordinance to review regulations regarding new development along substandard roads.
- Testified at the Metro Planning Commission regarding proposals for several new developments.
- Met with developers regarding plans for subdivisions, apartments & commercial development.
- Represented FANA on the KY Department of Transportation (KDOT) Community Advisory Board regarding the proposed I-64 interchange & connector roads.
- Met with Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) staff to discuss permitting for sewer expansion in the area and treatment plant capacities.
- Monitored Metro Office of Planning ongoing efforts to revise the Land Development Code to increase Middle Housing in existing residential zoning districts without rezoning if certain guidelines are followed.
- Supported Friends of Floyds Fork & Future Fund efforts to secure a multi-million-dollar US Army Corp of Engineers rehabilitation plan for two creeks in the Floyds Fork watershed.
- Convened a group of interested neighbors to meet with consultants and propose goals and strategies for the Louisville Urban Forest Master Plan.
